Actinara, the Devourer

Hey! This is just a WIP website where my plan is to make a directory for the lore and stories of a world I've come up with. With the sidegoal of teaching me HTML and web design! 😸💜

Actinara is a world of… tentacles and eyes. The best way to describe it to our modern special sensibilities would be to think of a planet anemone. Thus the name. Actiniaria, the order of the anemone species, which became Actinaria, and finally became Actinara. It has no back, no eyes. It’s entire surface is coated in dozens upon dozens of tendrils in the centre of which lies a maw, all-consuming and ever devouring.

The difference between this anemone and other sea anemones, other than the size difference, the presence of its own gravitational pull in each tendril, and the fact it glows and has its own bubble of an atmosphere, is that each and every single one of its impossibly large appendages has its own ecosystem, ecology, society, and economy. One could think of each limb to be a different city, but that would only be truly appropriate for the fully stone tendril of Favela – a land comprised entirely of stone bricks and coated in slums, fed by crops grown on imported soil and farmed by the ruling class of vampires who live in an inner city of sorts. Other than that and the insectoid hive-like structure of Formi (though their own pronunciation is much different), each tendril could be more appropriately described as a world in and of themselves.

Here is your current portal to each of these vast worlds along with some... noteworthy people who live on said worlds. Enjoy your trip! We hope you have a wonderful stay~!
